Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll

Everybody has at least heard of this classic. This is a book I read when I was a kid. I enjoyed the movie as well and I loved it so much that I watched it repeatedly. I was obsessed. I’ve had my eighth birthday based on the theme of Alice in Wonderland, with huge cupcakes, character cut-outs and costumes. So as you can see I really loved the book!

Obviously I don’t want to give spoilers so I’m just going to share the basic parts of the story. It’s mainly about this girl called Alice who ends up going on an adventure that is so chaotic that it’s mind blowing. At the start she sees a white rabbit with a waistcoat saying the very well known line from the book, “I’m late” and she follows him. Alice meets other characters along the way, such as the Mad Hatter, and the writer brings her to a new adventure with each character that she meets.

This book also has a lesson to it which is, you should follow your dreams and you shouldn’t do what people think you should do. Make your own mistakes and learn from them.

My favourite quote from the book is: you’re entirely bonkers but I’ll tell you a secret: all the best people are. As a kid I loved the idea of being crazy, but in a good way. For me it always showed the side of that person’s personality as different, which is what I love.

I would recommend this book. What’s not to like? It’s fascinating to read and has so many adventures that you definitely won’t get bored. Also, no matter what age group you are, you will enjoy this book because of how lively it is.
