Año tras año, un número destacado de estudiantes de este colegio británico obtienen las primeras posiciones para cursar grados tan exigentes como los de Medicina, Ingeniería Aeroespacial o el doble grado de ADE y Derecho, todos con una nota de acceso superior a doce. A Sixth Form which makes a difference

Caxton College offers its Sixth Form students a wide range of subjects, as well as having the distinction of being the only British school in Valencia to teach Philosophy, Psychology and Sociology.

At a time that is so vitally important for students, that is, choosing what Sixth Form studies to take, Caxton College offers the flexibility of choosing from a wide range of subject from the British and Spanish curricula. This option helps to provide an individualised A-level and/or Baccalaureate programme, and ensures that when they finish, they have been guided towards the type university degree they are thinking of taking. In addition, as they can choose between both Spanish and British subjects, students can study to prepare for Spanish universities, as well as for international ones.

This combination of subjects is an enormous help to those students who are not yet sure about their university studies. With this programme, a student who is still not certain whether to study Fine Arts or Engineering can take subjects in both areas and so discover where their true professional calling lies. Also, students are given the opportunity to develop a research project which goes beyond conventional curricula, such as the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).

The decision to integrate subjects such as Psychology, Sociology and Philosophy in Sixth Form is a testament to the importance that these are given in the most prestigious international universities.  Philosophy, for example, is widely-recognised, and is to be found on the lists of most highly-valued subjects in universities such as Oxford or Cambridge, understanding as they do that this subject is the root of all other academic disciplines, and that by studying it, the student can obtain an excellent source of support to help understand the subjects that he will study both in Science and the Humanities.   

As well as this, the school offers its A-level students the option of doing paid work experience in different departments throughout the school during the summer months. The aim of this is to give the students the chance of direct contact with the working world, and this practical experience can help as part of their career guidance.

University Orientation

It is worth mentioning that our strong A-level curriculum, adapted to the needs of each student, was forged over many years, thanks to the work of our teaching staff, committed to working towards the future of their students. From the age of 11, and up to Year 11, the students, with the help of their tutors, reinforce such skills as public speaking, debating and developing critical thinking, with the aim of learning to make the right decisions for their future academic and professional lives. At the same time, during the entire Secondary and Sixth Form stages, the students are able to work with Unifrog, a digital platform for university guidance in which they can centralise all information related to their academic curriculum as well as consulting it about international universities.

Academic results

Year after year, an outstanding number of students from this British school obtain their first choice of places in such demanding degree courses as Medicine, Aerospatial Engineering of the double degree of ADE (Business Administration / Law) and Law, all with university entrance grades of 12 or higher. On an international level, English universities at the top of the ranking lists also find students in their classrooms every year from this Puçol-based centre of education.
