En Caxton College hemos trazado un camino propio al establecer un ecosistema educativo que estimula y faculta a los alumnos para que, desde edades muy tempranas, desarrollen en paralelo su inteligencia y su comportamiento. Un sistema educativo innovador que forma a los estudiantes mediante un programa curricular creativo, adaptado a sus necesidades individuales, que combina lo cognitivo con lo afectivo.

Para generar esta atmósfera educativa es indispensable invertir en un equipo humano cualificado cuya finalidad sea la de investigar, identificar y desarrollar a diario el mejor recorrido educativo para los alumnos, tal como menciona la directora Amparo Gil. “Además de contar con profesores cualificados y adaptados a las clases del siglo XXI, desde hace décadas contamos con un equipo directivo docente, liberado de impartir clases, que apoya a los profesores en su desarrollo profesional. Este equipo estudia las tendencias educativas y plantea su aplicación, propone formación adecuada para que los docentes se sitúen al frente de la transformación educativa y evalúa permanentemente los resultados obtenidos para garantizar que se cumplen. En definitiva, es un grupo de profesionales que vela por el buen funcionamiento curricular del colegio con una actitud positiva y motivadora para abordar los constantes retos educativos”.

Sobre esta misma cuestión Marta Gil, subdirectora, asume que “no todos los niños procesan la información de la misma manera, ni responden emocionalmente de la misma forma. Este tipo de individualidades nos obliga a estar muy atentos y ajustar permanentemente los métodos de enseñanza para encontrar soluciones a problemas concretos y ofrecer el mejor resultado posible. En un mundo cambiante la enseñanza tiene que estar alerta y los procesos educativos tienen que ser dinámicos y adaptados a la realidad. Por ello, contar con equipos docentes que aporten ideas de manera continuada, es un valor añadido que nos permite sentir que diseñamos un proyecto educativo que deriva en una formación completa para nuestros alumnos”.

Este tipo de enseñanza trata de interpretar y responder a los estímulos de cada alumno para captar, de manera singularizada, el talento que esconde. Un aprendizaje motivador y personalizado resulta una experiencia educativa innovadora que pone en valor la figura del profesorado como factor determinante de su enseñanza.

Este proyecto educativo ha recibido en dos ocasiones consecutivas la máxima calificación internacional que puede recibir un colegio británico en el mundo de la mano de la inspección educativa BSO (British School Overseas). De este modo, el Ministerio de Educación del Reino Unido incluye a Caxton College entre los colegios de referencia fuera de Inglaterra puesto que representa la esencia de la calidad educativa británica, una de las más prestigiosas internacionalmente.

Regarding this, our Principal, Amparo Gil, said, ‘In addition to having qualified teachers who are accustomed to the demands of the 21st century classroom, for several decades we have had a technical team of academic coordinators, free of teaching responsibilities, whose objective is to support classroom teachers in their professional development. This team studies emerging educational tendencies and how to implement them, proposes training opportunities to place teaching staff at the forefront of changes in education and carries out continuous evaluation of pupils’ results to ensure they are progressing successfully. In summary, it is a group of experts who oversee effective curriculum delivery and ensure it is positive and motivating in order to address constant educational challenges’.

On this topic, our Vice Principal Marta Gil, said, ‘Not all children process information following the same pattern or respond to it the same way on an emotional level. These individualities require us to pay close attention and continually adjust teaching methods to find solutions to concrete problems and be able to offer the best possible result. In a rapidly changing world, teaching methods must be flexible and dynamic, as well as adapted to real conditions. This is why having additional teams of teachers who can continually bring new ideas to our curriculum is an added value allowing us to offer a comprehensive education that will prepare our students to lead exemplary lives’.

The aim of this approach is to interpret and respond to each student’s stimuli to understand where their individual talents lie. This motivating and personalised learning results in an innovative educational experience that emphasises the role of the teacher as its most significant characteristic.

The school’s approach has gained it, on two consecutive occasions, the most important international assurance of quality that a British school can hold worldwide through the British School Overseas inspection. The Department for Education in the UK therefore considers Caxton College a school of reference outside of England that represents the essence of a quality British education, one of the most prestigious educational systems on an international level.
