Good Reasons for Running the London Marathon / Buenos motivos para participar en la maratón de Londres

Finding the words to describe my experience at the London Marathon is proving more challenging than the 42.2km it took to run it!  It was an unbelievable experience that exemplified the kindness of strangers and the power of the human spirit, and one that I will truly treasure forever. Over 53 000 people took to the streets of London this year, a record number of participants since the marathon started 45 years ago.

One of the counsellors was a very wise lady called Jenny who I will always remember for how calm and thoughtful she was. One day, however, I found her very frustrated when she had just finished a call with a young girl and she said, “I am so concerned with all these children who think they have to be perfect. I just want them to know they are good enough the way they are”.
