Sri Lanka is a country that is very dear to my heart. Back in 2016 I took an unpaid sabbatical from my job in the UK to give voluntary service for children with special needs and disabilities in Sri Lanka. I was a founding director of an NGO to support children with special needs and disabilities and we collaborated with other foundations in Sri Lanka and with the health department. I am passionate about supporting children with vulnerabilities, especially children who are unable to attend their local schools and in most cases don’t receive any therapies, and their families who face many difficulties.
